Alex LoRe's command of the alto saxophone has garnered critical accolades, including praise from his current hometown paper, The New York Times. Influenced in part by instrumentalists such as Lee Konitz , George Garzone, Bunky Green and and James Moody, Alex has gleefully married the sounds of his classical music roots to the improvisational renderings of his extended saxophone soloing.
Alex's three albums—Dream House (2014) and More Figs and Blue Things (2016) on acclaimed saxophonist Greg Osby’s label, Inner Circle Music, and most recently Karol (2019) on Challenge Records International — showcase his melodic command as a band leader and player.
The in-demand saxophonist and composer performs regularly as both a leader of his own groups and as a sideman in a myriad of prestigious NYC jazz clubs.
