The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced that next season will include more new works as well as lesser- performed gems from music history. As WRTI’s Susan Lewis reports, the orchestra’s music director is building on the success of - and audience response to - his first two seasons.
While well-known masterpieces are always rewarding, Yannick Nezet-Seguin says the time is right to expand the orchestra’s repertoire. Season highlights will include a series called the 40/40 Project - in honor of Yannick’s 40th birthday, the orchestra will play 40 works that haven’t been included in subscription concerts for 40 years.
