Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra: Highlighting Diversity in Classical Music

Now in its sixth season, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra continues to perform classical music in a way that reflects ethnic and gender diversity among musicians. WRTI's Susan Lewis has more. 

On Friday, March 7, 2014, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra is performing at the Barnes Foundation. The program includes Copland's Appalachian Spring and Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires featuring Luigi Mazzocchi as violin soloist.

Black Pearl is also still conducting auditions for members of the public to play Beethoven's 9th symphony "side by side" with its musicians in a concert this June.
