Julian Booker
Associate Program DirectorJulian Booker began his radio career as a teenager, working at WSTW-FM / WDEL-AM in Wilmington, Delaware with his father, Pete, a lifelong radio professional. After graduating from Temple University in 2009, Julian began working in the Philadelphia live music scene and on the HD station Graffiti Radio.
From 2014 to 2025, Julian was the Sunday morning host of Sleepy Hollow, a long-running show on WXPN. Since 2021 he has also worked with North Carolina’s WNCW, hosting and producing a variety of shows, including the syndicated program Culture Caravan. His professional credits also include work as co-producer, writer, editor and audio engineer for Osiris Media’s Festival Circuit: Newport Folk podcast with Carmel Holt, and as tour manager and front-of-house engineer for pianist and bandleader Marco Benevento.
Julian comes to WRTI from the Philadelphia-based live concert and event company, Rising Sun Presents, where he worked for a number of years as Production and Project Director. In addition to his role as Associate Program Director, Julian takes over The Get Down, which airs Saturday evenings 6-9 p.m., from its previous host, Greg Bryant.
