The delightful ladies of DivaNation Philly have been singing together for over five years throughout the Philadelphia region. Several members of the collective recently joined Jazz Host J. Michael Harrison live in the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio to present a preview of "Vibing for Spring"—their upcoming March 9th performance at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts.
The WRTI session features three DivaNation members: Khadijah Renee, Gretchen Elise, and Jean Lenke. Khadijah Renee sings noted Philadelphia guitarist Gerald “Twig” Smith’s “Heed the Caveat," Gretchen Elise debuts her original composition “Spring is on its Way,” and Jean Lenke presents her original composition, "One Last Chance."
The ladies are accompanied by bassist Richard Hill, drummer Ricardo Martino, keyboardist Anam Owili Eger, and guitarst Tom Glenn.
Check out "Vibing for Spring," Saturday, March 9th 7 to 9:30 PM, Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts – 738 S. Broad Street. The all-female jazz collective shares the bill with vibraphonist Warren Wolf and his Wolfpack making for an exciting evening of music. Details here.
