Conductor Laureate Ignat Solzhenitsyn leads The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia in two works on this month's Applause! broadcast. Benjamin Britten's tribute to his teacher, the Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, will open the program. The work, written in 1937, brought Britten international attention. Also on the program, Franz Joseph Haydn's "Surprise Symphony." Dave Conant hosts. Sunday, May 18th, 5 to 6 pm on WRTI.
