Acclaimed mandolin virtuoso Caterina Lichtenberg records, teaches and tours the world. Ahead of her performance with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, she visited WRTI on February 21st, to play music by Bach and other composers, and to chat with WRTI's Susan Lewis.
Caterina was raised in Germany, and graduated with highest honors from the Music Conservatory in Cologne. For over 20 years, Caterina has been recording, teaching, and touring throughout Europe, Japan, Taiwan, South America, Canada and the U.S. to rave reviews.

Caterina Lichtenberg has released 10 albums under her own leadership in a variety of chamber music settings. She collaborates with renowned American mandolinist Mike Marshall Their first recording blurred the lines between their classical, jazz, bluegrass and Brazilian musical backgrounds.
She is the classical mandolin teacher for the online teaching school, Artist Works. She currently lives part time in both Germany and California.
