The Chestnut Street Singers were live from WRTI's Performance Studio in advance of their March 6th and 8th concerts celebrating the past and future of their ensemble, now in its 10th season. WRTI's Susan Lewis, host.

January 13, 2020. Jeff Goldblum (yes, THAT Jeff Goldblum) and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra are at it again, with more mash-ups, jazz standards, and collaborations on I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This, the follow-up album to 2018’s The Capitol Sessions.

January 6, 2019. Looking for some good old-fashioned fun? Here it is. Rachael Price has made a name for herself as lead vocalist of Lake Street Dive, the harmonizing folk-rockers erring on the side of Motown. What fans of her sound might not know is that, for years, she’d been dying to sing jazz, more specifically the kinds of tunes popularized by the big-band singers of the '30s and '40s. 

September 16, 2019. Resonance Records has proven to be a jazz powerhouse when it comes to new releases and never-before released vintage material. Sing A Song of Jazz: The Best of Vocal Jazz on Resonance truly celebrates the power of lyrical jazz, whether it was recorded in 1956 or 2019.

The choral ensemble Craft Works Music visited WRTI 90.1 on Wednesday, May 22nd at 12:10 PM to sing highlights from upcoming concerts based on Walt Whitman's poetry, in honor of his 200th birthday. They also talked with WRTI's Susan Lewis about Whitman's legacy.
 

May 13, 2019. Himmelsmusik, German for “heavenly music," is the latest project of Austrian theorbo player Christina Pluhar and her early-music ensemble L’Arpeggiata, based in France.

The delightful ladies of DivaNation Philly have been singing together for over five years throughout the Philadelphia region. Several members of the collective recently joined Jazz Host J. Michael Harrison live in the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio to present a preview of "Vibing for Spring"—their upcoming March 9th performance at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts.
