Why do we love a good melody? How does a good melody stick in our brains and make us feel things we can’t even put into words? And what does the latest scientific research show about how listening to music and melody improves our overall health?
If you're curious, join WRTI Classical Host Dr. Debra Lew Harder at her two upcoming concerts in the Philadelphia region featuring her new program “The Human Need for Melody" on March 31st and April 14th.
She’ll explore this fascinating topic and perform great masterworks for the piano by supreme melodists J.S. Bach, Michio Miyagi, Ludwig van Beethoven, Dana Suesse, Ingrid Arauco, Scott Joplin, Francis Poulenc, and Frederic Chopin.
Two places to catch Debra's "Concert and Conversation" performances:
Sunday, March 31, at 3 PM in Haverford, PA: Haverford College, Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium
Sunday April 14, at 3 PM in Sewell, NJ: Music at Bunker Hil, Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church
Debra can heard on WRTI 90.1 Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM, and Saturdays from 6 AM to 12 noon for Saturday Classical Coffeehouse.
