Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 264th birthday is Monday, January 27th, and of course we have something special planned. WRTI’s classical hosts will share their most beloved Mozart recordings with listeners. Each hour, between 6 AM and 6 PM, Gregg Whiteside, Bliss Michelson, and Kevin Gordon will share one “must-have” recording and tell you why it’s become a cherished, personal favorite.
Our special selections include ones from master Mozart interpreter pianist Mitsuko Uchida, our very own Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra in a recent WRTI exclusive recording, as well as historic recordings from the Columbia Symphony Orchestra with Bruno Walter and the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Karl Böhm.
